Maximize Social Services for community awakening; Sheikh Abubaker Ahmed

Ahmadabad: In a self-centred world order, service oriented activities and socially committed initiatives are the need of the hour and widening the reach of such social services will empower the communities; said Sheikh Abubaker Ahmed, the Chancellor of Jamia Markaz and General Secretary of Sunni Scholars’ Organization of India, at the National Islamic Conference on ‘Revive the Spirit of Islam’, here, Ahmadabad, Gujarat, organized by Markaz Group of Institutions, India region. Sheikh Abubaker was presenting his keynote address at the conference in the historic city.
Beneficiaries of this approach of innovative Islamic movement through social interferences by the Muslim scholars, are not only Muslims but the other communities as well and the entire nation in general. The appalling partition of India obliged many responsibilities upon Muslims, especially in the northern India. They were left without their families and even good neighbours.  Unfortunately, the different governments in the central power failed to listen the issues that the community faced. The Sacchar Committee Report, an official account of the government of India on the current status of the Muslim community, pointed out that governments did not succeed in addressing the major issues of the community.  This was the situation the Muslim Ulema and visionaries came forward to strategize community services and concentrated on the social awakening through educational and charitable initiatives, Sheikh Abubaker added.
The National Islamic Conference on the theme ‘Revive the Spirit of Islam’ was organized as a part of the Sunni Muslim movements in North Indian states to coordinate the different programmes in the region under Jamia Markaz. Shah Alam Ground, Ahmadabad, the venue of the conference, witnessed massive participation of people from almost all states of India.
‘Islamic Session’ and ‘Spiritual Session’ were inaugurated by Idris Vora IAS Ahmedabad and Gujarat Grand Mufti Moulana Shabir Alam respectively. Burda Majlis followed, which was totally a novel experience for the Gujarati Muslims.  Rajastan Grand Mufti Allama Sher Muhammad inaugurated the ‘Revive the Spirit of Islam Conference’. Sheikh Aboobacker Ahmed, the Chancellor of Jamia Markaz and General Secretary of Sunni Scholars Organization of India, delivered the keynote address.
Chairman of Al Ikhlas Foundation, Haji Abdunnizar Chacha, Principal Jamia Markaz, Dr. Husain Muhammad Saquafi, and General Secretary of RCFI, Dr. MAH Azhari, presented the papers in the conference on different topics.
